Using computers in the classroom is a great way to reach students. In my future classroom I need to remember that not all students may have a computer at home. By posting documents on googledoc, they can access them from any computer. They can post them on the computer at school and I can edit them at home if I want. Having the "home" be the internet is very helpful. Students can also build on eachother's strengths by working in groups.

There are so many things that need to be taught in the classroom. In my practicum I have realized that a lot of students don't even know how to navigate through the internet or create and save a word document. For those that already do, it is great to learn these other things for fast finishers or to use as extensions in the classroom.

High School Flashback a MUST WATCH

Today's class in the YETC was great! I particularly loved the spellingcity.com website. How great is it to have them take a test that grades itself? Kids love working on computers anyway. I've used a few of the resources in the YETC before, but right now I feel like I haven't had use for them other than it gets me excited to teach. I'm very excited to student teach and have these resources available.
